April Letter From the Editor (Two Days Late)
“This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” - Heb. 6:19 NLT
Something I’ve recently realized is this: “Every ending is a beginning & every beginning is an ending.” What does this mean? When we start something new, it means another thing is finished. Like the covenant of marriage, singleness must end for marriage to begin and marriage must begin for singleness to end. Life is complex this way. Joy mixed with sorrow, sorrow mixed with joy. If you ever want to study the complexities of this more in-depth, study the book of Ecclesiastes as Solomon walks through the seasons of life.
I bring up all of this because we are PIVOTING here at Tirzah. These changes are necessary and we think you will love them. However, with them, comes the sad news that we are losing our managing editor - Mia Grace - who has faithfully served us for years. For those who don’t know, we have volunteered our time for FREE for years and Mia is someone who has been consistent and faithful to give her time. In this season, she & her husband are transitioning to puppy parenthood and parents of two! An exciting season for Mia & her family, but a loss here at Tirzah. Many of you writers & readers have had the joy of getting to know her through her words or editing and we will miss her a lot!
Due to these changes, we have decided to pivot on a couple of things that after discussion with Mia & others will help us build long-term stability. Our first and most important thing to make you aware of is beginning in May, we have decided to make Tirzah in the Word FREE. Please head to our website and join this exciting community!!! Our hearts at Tirzah are for everyone to have access to the Bible and to other believers - no matter where they are in the world. For the foreseeable future, all of our monthly, exclusive content and Zoom call Bible studies will be available for FREE. All you have to do is sign up on www.tirzahmag.com! As we’ve always intended our daily articles will remain free.
In addition to these changes, we are making room to grow and expand what we offer! Stay tuned for my first book, Becoming: A 20 - Day - Devotional, releasing soon exclusively on our website in ebook form. In addition to this, we believe we have found a candidate for our social media manager and hope to have someone in place at the beginning of June. In the meantime, I (Alycia), will be taking over our managing editor duties so we can create a more consistent, easy flow for our managing editors moving forward! Our hope is to smooth things out and make things easier for you to contact us, meet with us, receive content, share your stories, and most importantly - learn more about Jesus.
I apologize for the long list of updates, but as we stated previously endings not only bring new beginnings but necessitate them. If you notice any delays or pauses in the month of May, it is because we are upgrading and improving. For those who don’t know, all of our positions - including mine - are volunteer so it can slow things down sometimes. As a collective, we continue to stand firm & committed to the vision of Tirzah and know that our hope & this ministry are anchored in Christ. I continue to pray for the day when this ministry gets to be even more in the forefront of my life, so I can serve you all more. God bless!
Sincerely,
Alycia Johnson
