New Things

Happy New Year, readers! I hope 2026 is starting with joy for you. I feel like God is moving in my life this year and it fills me with excitement for what He is going to do.

New things bring joy, especially when you know the One who is behind your new.

“Remember not the former things, nor the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

-Isaiah 43:18-19 English Standard Version

I have run across that verse about four times during my Bible times since January 1st and to me that signifies that God is speaking.

What is He saying?

He whispered over my heart on News Years Day,

New things are coming’

I am not sure what all that entails, but if He is crafting it; I know it has to be good.

“You have done many good things for me, LORD, just as you promised.”

-Psalm 119:65 New Living Translation

He keeps His promises; He is a good, good Father.

He is good even when we get betrayed, rejected, and forgotten. Sometimes the bad times reveal the goodness of God. He is good even when our circumstances are not looking that way.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

-Romans 8:28 New Living Translation

It’s all good when God is in it. I do not know how 2026 greeted you; maybe it is with a diagnosis or death you didn’t expect. Let me reassure you God is standing with you in this mess. He is holding your hand and will NEVER leave you.

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

-Isaiah 41:10 New Living Translation

He will not leave you in your mess, He is working in your waiting, in the tears and trauma. We have trust that He is working even when we cannot feel it or see it. What He is making is beautiful and brand new. It’s not like anything we have seen before.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

-Isaiah 42:9 English Standard Version

I am living the prayers I once prayed. God is on the move this year and I am hopeful with anticipation for Him to come shake up my life.

I believe that we can get comfortable in our lives and that can hurt us in the long run. I am as guilty as the next girl of this. We are not meant to live comfortable lives; we are called to be different. A life following Jesus is not an easy one. It can be really hard, but we have hope.

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows but take heart I have overcome the world.”

-John 16:33 New Living Translation

Whatever He is up to, I am here for it.

“But forget all that- it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”

-Isaiah 43:18-19 New Living Translation

This is the banner I am carrying into the rest of 2026. I do not know what all He has planned for me, but I believe it’ll be beautiful and brand new.  I pray that the year will be just as prosperous for you! New things are coming!
