You're Worth More Than You Know

So many directions I could go and so much I could say. It seemed important in a magazine for Godly women we address the recent issues going on in society. Every week a new scandal comes out. With each scandal, it becomes more disheartening for women. As you read the headlines of the latest scandals of the world, be heartened. Harvey Weinstein's will always exist in the world. Many politicians will sadly be accused and commit heinous sexual misdeeds. Women will be devalued. Society will continue to stand for it. Our current entertainment industry has made it clear that women must do and say things contrary to the Bible in order to succeed.

Society tells us that every day women are being trafficked and willingly being bought by men. I spend my days doing social work and have learned that is not where the money is at. Talking to clients who find "sugar daddies" and prostitute themselves have enlightened me to the money-making schemes of today. In a month I could make as much as I do in a year. These are the values being placed on women throughout time.

My dear Tirzah ladies, this is not the value set on women by God. It saddens me to see women believe the lie that they must use their body to have value. God created you for so much more. Do not settle for anything less than the best. If you look throughout the Bible, God was a champion of women.

God used Esther to save an entire nation. He used Ruth to show love and faithfulness. All Ruth had to do was be faithful to her God and family. This led to her being a part of the genealogy of Christ. Deborah stood alongside Barak as a judge for God in the Old Testament. Mary carried Jesus -  the Savior of the World - in her stomach.

Beyond this, Jesus used women that others believed unlovable. In the Old Testament, He offered healing for the woman at the well. She had lived and slept with many men but He offered her a life much better. This woman went on to witness to many others. There was Rahab the harlot who helped Joshua capture Jericho. Some have supposed she was even the madam for a home of prostitutes. She was a part of the genealogy of Christ.

Not only did Jesus love women but He brought forth Godly men to support these women. Elijah helped a widow and her son who were almost out of food. He made sure they had plenty of food from the time he met her. Joseph married Mary even though she was pregnant. He not only married her but raised Jesus as his own. Boaz made sure Ruth had plenty of food. Not only did he do that but married her and took in her mother-in-law.

The Bible is full of examples of God's love for women. In John 3:16 it says:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

It also says in Romans 5:6:

You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.

Believe you are loved. Live like your loved. Know that there will be scandals. Women will be used by men and use men. However, this is not the norm. In real life, there are many men who would step up and protect a woman who was being used or abuse. Many who marry women and protect them. Sons who help their mothers. Women just like you who are striving to use their God-given talents to make the world a better place.

For every bad story, there is a good story. How have you seen God's love in your life? What men or women in your life have exhibited God's love? How are you showing how much you are loved by God to others?
