New Music Review: Julie Elias - Dreamer
There was this time, during the 90s/early 2000s when it was the era of girl Christian singers. I remember the concerts, tours, and teen girl magazines. Rebecca St. James had her tours with her brothers Joel & Luke (now known as For King & Country) in the background. Natalie Grant was a household staple. Then, there was Britt Nicole - the new, young cool singer. Those days were some of my favorites.
My prayer in recent years has been that a new group of women would arise to reach the next generation of young women. There has been Hollyn and Riley Clemmons, but the group has been a lot smaller. I was excited to see that Julie Elias has released her album “Dreamer”. She’s new to my playlist, but I encourage you to check her out!
I’ve included the music video for “The Dreamer” so you can check out her album! My favorite on the album was “You Make Me Brave”, which is a worship song that she chose to include in the album. Some of the most popular songs on the album (according to Apple) include “Stampede”, “The Dreamer”, and “Mistakes”. As a horse lover, I appreciated the lyrics of “Stampede”. In a world of writers, I’m always analyzing lyrics and using that to determine what I’m listening to.
Please give Julie Elias a listen and I encourage you to support other women Christian singers on their journey. It’s a beautiful thing to see Godly women flourishing in their giftings. In a world full of Taylor Swift, Pink, and more, let’s encourage a generation of women celebrating God and what he has done:)
