Media Matters: The Finale

Over the year of 2025, I’ve covered different aspects of media and how it can be both good and bad. I hope you’ve enjoyed the series and it has inspired you to consider how you relate to the worlds of film, media, social media, and entertainment.

Right now, I’m sitting in my office and see a book on my shelf “The Old Testament and the Fine Arts”. One of the most profound moments of understanding media began, for me, when I heard that the first person filled with the Holy Spirit was a man named Bezalel who was tasked with creating the Tabernacle and its furnishings. God thought appearance and beauty were important enough that He filled a man with His Spirit to anoint him to create beautiful things for His glory.

I hope that flips your own narrative on media. As Christians, we tend to place different technology, mediums of music, and films into “evil” or simply of the devil. The reality is that we live in a John 10:10 world. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. However, God has come to give life more abundantly. You decide which side you are on.

Everyone may not be called to do the same things I do or interact with media the way I do. I’m grateful to have attended Asbury University where they taught us that Christians should be the BEST at whatever they put their hands to - including the arts. We should be the best at social media, at blogs, in film, and in music. God created us to create beautiful things.

When you look in the mirror, He says you are “wonderfully made”. God created ALL of us and every feature and element of our DNA. He is the sculptor of the mountains. God created the perfect symphony with nature. The most beautiful landscape with a sunrise and sunset. Why shouldn’t we, His followers, create beautiful things as well? Why shouldn’t we honor and appreciate the way He created us?

Pray, as the year ends, if God wants you to be a voice in media. If you’re a young or even older woman, remember that you are more than welcome to come share your story on Tirzah - whether through an interview, monthly articles, or occasional social media reel. Your voice matters - and maybe you’re still finding it. That’s what we’re all about here. Discovering your voice, so you can create the beautiful things He has called you to and appreciate the beautiful ways He has created you.
