Movie Recommendation: Found & Lifted

“The Lord sustains all who fall

And raises up all who are bowed down.”

Psalm 145:14

Here at Tirzah, we get asked to do movie/book/music reviews from time to time.  When I agreed to review the movie “Found & Lifted”, the only thing I knew about it was the context of God redeeming a woman who found herself divorced.  This is a topic that can be controversial in the church and has people standing on different parts of this issue.  We do not encourage divorce, except for Biblical reasons.  This movie has definite grounds for divorce.

We also recognize remarriage is something that people in the church have different stances on.  It is my encouragement to you that if you find yourself in a difficult or abusive situation - God calls you to reach out for help.  There are Biblical grounds for you to leave an unsafe situation.  God is NOT a God of physical or emotional abuse.  This movie addresses these issues in a very Biblical way.

“Found and Lifted” addresses two different sides of a relationship finding healing.  There are times for restoration & redemption.  Then, there are times when that is not possible due to someone being unwilling to change sinful behavior patterns.  “Found & Lifted” showcases both and shows how God can redeem the hurt/pain in someone’s life.  I encourage you to watch it if you wish to learn more about these difficult topics.

After stating all of this, I want you to know this is a fictional movie for entertainment purposes meant to edify and uplift you.  The plot/storyline was great and the woman who constantly prays for her friends is an amazing actress.  Personally, I found the acting to be very elementary level and, sadly, recommend you skip any parts where the characters sing.  I understand the heart behind the movie and appreciate being asked to review it.  If you want to learn more about marital problems while being entertained, I highly recommend watching the movie.  If you are watching purely for entertainment, I have to warn you that they are still learning as actors.
