A Word on Finances With AdelFI
We received an interesting offer from our blogger network to promote a Christian banking company called adelfi. At first I, Alycia, was unsure of whether or not this fit into our values here at Tirzah. However, I considered how I choose to do my own life. I personally believe in doing all I can to support the household of God (Gal. 6:10). Personally, I have been on a journey to learn about things like Christian health sharing programs, businesses, and more. Something I committed to several years ago was drinking coffee at local coffee shops. I’m not saying ban Starbucks, but I found their values did NOT align with mine as a believer. Throughout the last two years, I’ve gotten to know so many amazing coffee shop owners, many who are faith based, and love how they serve their community through their coffee shops.
Like I said, I wasn’t sure at first, but I do believe it is important to share about other Christian businesses. Moving forward, you won’t necessarily see articles about banking frequently. I did feel it was important to promote utilizing Christian businesses. If you are looking for a new bank consider checking them out! Here’s a statement from them on why you should choose them!
In a recent study by AdelFi, it found that young Christian consumers gave nearly 3x more than non-Christians. However, when supporting business that aligned with what they aligned with their beliefs/causes, they were no different than non-Christians. And in some instances, non-Christians cared more than Christians about doing business with organizations that aligned with their non-Christian beliefs. This was mainly due to the fact that there aren’t many Christian businesses marketing its values. At AdelFi, we believe that as stewards of God’s money, we support fellow Christian businesses and understand the need to promote the intersection of faith and finances. Daily purchase interactions should have a form of tithing daily. Where you bank has a ripple effect on how resources get used or recycled within the Christian community. Banking with AdelFi means more support to fellow Christian consumers, businesses, churches, non-profits, and causes. In fact, AdelFi is a not-for-profit credit union, where the money doesn’t go to wall street, but to God’s streets – where the Gospel is spread domestically and internationally.
It’s a privilege to share about a topic we don’t talk about much - utilizing Christian banking. Consider checking out this Christ centered bank and evaluate where all your spending is going. Look in your life and see if you can support Christians in where you shop, how you do healthcare, where you bank, and even what you wear. No judgment here if that is hard for you to do, but pray about how God would have you steward your finances for the Kingdom!
