Rescuing Royalty
Did you know that there are more than 25 MILLION orphans in India?
Orphans who are not cared for, find themselves in a frightfully vulnerable position. They usually end up in one of three heartbreaking places:
- Forced child labor
- Begging for food
- Sold for sex trafficking
25 million. The number is staggering, and to be quite honest, completely overwhelming. As Author Katie Davis (missionary to Africa) wrote:
Sometimes, trying to change the world feels like you're emptying the ocean with an eye-dropper.
We can't change this whole world all at once. But, for one child we can TOTALLY change their world.
The Lord's heart has always been for the orphan. And slowly, one day at a time, He has been breaking my heart for them as well. My thick calluses of apathy have been shattered. Whenever I would pray and worship, spending time with the Lord, my thoughts were consumed with their sweet little faces, while visions of six-year-old's picking through rotten food, gradually pushed me off the edge. Off the edge of a cliff and into the realm of faith for the impossible: building these kids an orphanage.
Crown of Beauty (the magazine and ministry which the Lord has given me) is going to build these girls in India a home! We are partnering with Angel House Orphan Rescue and have one year to raise all the funds!
I believe that this is an amazing opportunity for us to stand up in our God-given calling as His Princesses and rescue His royal children! Just like Esther, we have been called to the Kingdom for such a time as this.
With this project, you have the opportunity to touch the lives of 12 precious gems on the other side of the ocean, these abandoned girls who desperately need our help.
Tonight, there are 12 children fighting for their lives in the streets, without parents, or even a comfy pillow to rest their little heads on.
I don't know about you, but I am not okay with that. What about you?
The Lord has always provided an answer for the orphan and the widow, even in the Old Testament. The Lord commanded His people to leave leftover grains of barley in their fields so that the poor orphans, widows and strangers in the land would be taken care of. And what about us? Will we allow the orphan to come and glean in our fields of abundant blessings? Every day, we enjoy the luxuries of life in our Western Christian culture. We meet with our friends at Starbucks, go shopping together, and splurge to see the latest movies in big comfy theater chairs with a bin of butter popcorn.
And it's not that the Lord doesn't want us to enjoy these things, but sometimes I wonder where our hearts really are. It is my greatest prayer that we will NOT be a generation of princesses who live like the worldly culture around us, consuming, and taking more than we give. Proverbs 31 makes it clear that our role as His princesses is to extend our hands to the poor, giving of ourselves, our time, money, and energy.
The leach has two daughters--Give and Give!... -Proverbs 30:15
If you've ever had an encounter with a leach, it is a nasty thing. The blood sucking creatures cling to your skin and aren't shy about consuming!
In a culture that celebrates selfies, new clothes, and movie nights, we must be so careful that we do not carelessly consume what we've been given. We must be faithful stewards of our lives because someday we will stand before the King and give account for the way we lived!
Don't you want to be a Daughter who can say she gave everything? I surely don't want to be counted with the leach-crowd! I want to be remembered as a woman who graciously gave of herself, surrendered all I had to Jesus, and followed Him wherever He led.
Even if He leads me to a dusty, dirty road in India.
How would you like to join me on an adventure?
Would you consider praying about getting involved with this project? Whether you choose to donate, spread the word on social media, host a fun party, make some adorable crafts, or choose from our many fundraising ideas, we would be so excited to have you get involved!

And if you don't see anything that sounds super fun, such as donating your next birthday to a little girl who has never celebrated hers before, hosting a Disney movie watching marathon with your friends, or an ice-cream social with your youth group...try one of these fun ideas:
Join the #PrincessAwarenessProgram
Everyone likes taking selfies right?! Why not take your selfie game to the next level, and change the world while you're at it? Simply take a photo of yourself wearing a tiara, a fancy dress, your favorite high-heels or doing something totally princessy and girly! Use the hashtag #PrincessAwarenessProgram and post on Instagram. Include the link: https://missions.me/crownofbeautyorphanage. Tag some of your friends, and challenge them to do the same! We will look at all the pics with that hashtag on Instagram and post our favorites on the site!
Skip a Movie for Missions!
Ask your friends and family how much they typically spend on a trip to the movie theater including their ticket, popcorn, candy, etc. Then, ask them to consider donating that amount instead!
Sacrificing Starbucks
...Ouch, this might be a hard one! Challenge yourself to give up Starbucks, extra candy bars, or some other guilty pleasure for either a week, or a month, or even longer! Challenge your friends and family to do the same!
Little Princes Penny Collectors is a fun way to get young girls involved. Our little sister generation must know that they are never too young to change the world. If you're the leader of a Sunday School group, girls club, or love volunteering and connecting with younger girls... ask us about this! It's going to be such a rewarding experience! (For you, and the girls.)
A cry is arising from the fields of the fatherless...will you answer the call? Will you step out and be Jesus' hands and feet? At any given moment, we have the power to look at these children and say, "This is not how your story will end! Jesus' blood was poured out for you, I will NOT let the enemy steal Jesus' most precious inheritance, which is YOU! He bought you with His blood! You are SO loved, and I want to show you that with my life!"
Jesus was willing to step down from Heaven and give everything for us. Are we willing to get out of our comfort zones and show the same love to these kids?
Blessings to you all!
In Christ,
Livy Lynn
