Evangelistic Help to the Homeless

We’ve been talking about how we can help the homeless this year. Maybe you feel inadequate or that you don’t have enough to help someone else, but there are simple ways to show Christ’s love to homeless people. Rather than tell you about all the housing solutions, I wanted to propose a simple way anyone can help homeless people.

It’s something everyone can do - of all ages. Get a group of friends or church folks together and assemble backpacks for the homeless. Collect the items on the list below. Put them together and then keep one in your car at all times. When you see a homeless person, give one to them. Make sure to assemble ones customized for different ages and genders too!

One of the greatest ways we can show God’s love is acknowledging someone in their greatest time of need and giving someone a small glimpse of hope.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
