Book Review: Rosie's Ranch Rescue
“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
-Philippians 2:4
Rosie’s Ranch Rescue by Paige Murray is a story that perfectly reflects this verse in Philippians. This children’s story is about a very responsible and caring girl named Oakley. She lives on a ranch where she rides around on her trusty horse, Rosie, making sure all the animals are safe and cared for. They encounter some unique animals like armadillo and wild boar while their cat and dog tag along to help keep the ranch safe.
My two- and four-year-olds were glued to the colorful pages and loved identifying all the animals on the ranch. There was the perfect amount of suspense that made them so excited to see what was going to happen to Oakley and all the animals. As a mom, I love how such a fun book has a deeper message and teaches my kids Biblical values like taking care of one another. In a world that is so focused on self, it’s refreshing to read a story that emphasizes being selfless and stepping outside of your comfort zone to help those around you.
