August Letter From The Editor

Transition (v.): the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

Transitions are hard. It’s the move from one state to another. When you were excited to be married, but realized you were transitioning out of singleness. The time God called you from one church to another. When the state of a relationship, ministry, family or company transitions to something new. That seems to describe the state of August.

To clarify, transitions isn’t applying to any massive announcement about Tirzah, but the state of the month of August. It’s the transition for some teenage girl from summer to school starting again. The moment a mom realizes she will be sending her child off to school for the first time. Realizing you’ve shifted into a new stage of adulthood or you’ve become a parent. There is a season for everything and a time to transition into something new.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.” - Ecc. 3:1 - 8

For me, personally, I have fully shifted out of my social work world into online and women’s ministry. Moved from one city to another. Switched churches and took on new roles in life, while shedding some old. It’s been a season of making moves behind the scenes. Every day is a reminder that God is in control and I am not.

As you prepare to transition into new seasons and make new moves, I pray that God shows you He is PRESENT. When everything around you shifts, He is constant. When the dreams you prayed for finally arrive - He is GOOD. As you step into new roles, He is SOVEREIGN. Every moment you question a transition God places in front of you, I pray He reminds you that He is present, good, and sovereign. As I’m learning, when you walk in obedience and faith God will show you how wonderful He truly is.

Thank you ladies for your heart to walk in obedience and faith to God’s plan. I love your hearts to discover more of His words and love partnering alongside you. In transitions and shifting seasons, Tirzah has always felt like a constant blessing and a piece of Heaven and Earth. Thank you to Kelly Beth, our social media manager, and Kayley, our managing editor, for stepping up so I could make transitions in my own life. Starting next month, we will be transitioning back to our Facebook platform again for Tirzah in the Word and I can’t wait to communicate more with each of you and see how God is moving in your life!
