To The Girl...
To the girl whose stomach sinks when she thinks too much about life…
You are seen.
You are loved.
You are held.
God comforts us in our weaknesses. He provides for our every need. In the book of Job, Eliphaz, a friend of Job, says, “As for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause, who does great things and unsearchable, marvelous things without number: he gives rain on the earth and sends waters on the field; he sets on high those who are lowly, and those who mourn are lifted to safety” (Job 5:8-11).
God sees your struggle. God comforts you in your moment of weakness. And when your stomach starts to turn, and you feel the tears forming in your eyes, run to the Father. Sprint to the arms of God, because He sees your heart. He sees your pain. And He comforts you. He provides rain and safety to those who are lowly and mourning. And just as God provides for Eliphaz’s needs, He provides for you, too.
Just like Eliphaz, David, a writer of the Psalms, wrote in thanksgiving for the Lord’s faithfulness and provision. David wrote, “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds” (Psalm 9:1).
To the girl whose schedule is filling to the brim with assignments, you are seen.
To the girl who just can’t seem to have a break in the midst of everything, you are loved.
To the girl just trying to get through another day, praise God. For He is good. His good works are countless. Each moment of the day, God fills your lungs with breath. God gives you the strength to wake up each morning. There are so many blessings He has given you.
To the girl whose stomach is turning, when have you stopped to think about His promises? When have you paused to thank Him for everything He has given you?
To the girl who just doesn’t think she can go on, the Lord sees you and the Lord is with you. The Lord God is not a supernatural being who is far away. No, the Lord is here and with you. He sees you. He hears you. He comforts you.
The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you; for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
The Lord is with you. Through every battle, through every tear, and through every happy and joyful moment, He is there with you and loving you. He is loving you through it all. God’s love for you is unconditional, and there is nothing you can do to stop His love or destroy His love for you. His love is everlasting.
So, to the girl who is reading this, you are seen. You are loved. And God is with you.
