The She Reads Truth Bible + A GIVEAWAY

Bible Study has transformed my life and my soul. I read the Bible in full for the first time during my first year of law school. That was the year my faith became my own - not something I inherited from my parents or was taught by my church. By reading His word, I got to know the Lord. Passage by passage, He took my heart of stone, melted it and began molding into the woman He created me to be. He became my Home.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. -2 Timothy 3:16-17

When I first started studying the Bible for myself, one of the resources I discovered was the She Reads Truth community. For years, I have drawn so much Truth from She Reads Truth through their devotionals and studies. So when I had the chance to review a copy of their new She Reads Truth Bible, I couldn't be more excited (let's be honest, I was just waiting for an excuse to buy it anyways, but since I just got a new Bible two years ago, I just couldn't justify getting a new one yet again).

The She Reads Truth Bible aims to live at the intersection of beauty, goodness, and Truth. Featuring devotionals by the She Reads Truth team, and Scripture reading plans that include supplemental passages for deeper understanding, this Bible invites every woman to count themselves among the She Reads Truth community of "Women in the Word of God every day." The She Reads Truth Bible also features 66 key verses, artfully lettered to aid in Scripture memorization.

Features include: almost 200 devotionals, 66 artist-designed key verses, 35 full-color timelines, 20 full-color maps, 11 full-color charts, reading plans for every book of the Bible, one-year Bible reading plan, detailed book introductions, key verse list, carefully curated topical index, smyth-sewn binding, two colored ribbon markers, and wide margins for journaling and note-taking.

There is something so special about opening a fresh Bible. All of a sudden, each passage you open is both new and yet, comfortingly familiar. There is a hope and expectation for new lessons, and the peace of reading a verse you clung to through life's darkest storms. Although I still do my daily Bible study in my regular Bible (NKJV), because the She Reads Truth Bible is a different version (Christian Standard Bible), I've been reading the same passages in both Bibles versions, and y'all it has added a whole new dimension to my Bibles study.

Additionally, the She Reads Truth Bible has a short introduction to each of the books, adding context on the historical significance of the book, the author, the timeline, maps, and key themes. Since my personal Bible isn't a study Bible, I often have to turn to online tools to supplement my Bible study with this information, so that's been helpful to me to have that handy at my desk as I study the Word of God each morning (although, this Bible is just so pretty that, sometimes, I just open it at random and read it on the couch like a book - reading some of my favorite passages in a new to me translation has been so refreshing and inspiring!).

I also love how there is a reading guide for each book, where each chapter in the book corresponds to other similar themes and passages in the Bible. So, for example, as I was reading Acts 1, the schedule also had me reading Matthew 28:16-20 and Romans 6:11-14. Cross references are vital to helping you see the overall redemption story and the hand of God present through out the entire Bible, but this is the firs time I've seen cross references be tied into a yearly reading schedule, which I love (and will probably be using in 2018 to once again read the Bible in full!).

The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one's life; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. -Psalm 17:7
