TIRZAH

Letter from the Editor: November

There’s this song by Taylor Swift called “Everything Has Changed” that I have always loved. The lyrics are:

“All I know this morning when I woke

Is I know something now

Know something now I didn’t before...”

It’s a beautiful, sappy, romantic song about the day she met the boy of her dreams. Whenever I find myself in the midst of change, I’ve found myself listening to this song - especially in recent months. It’s been a theme of mine since God rocked my world yet again.

He has stripped back layer after layer of who I am personally becoming and my own journey. In the last six months, I’ve found myself back where I started. Entering the city I lived in 7 years, moved in to the same place with my parents I originally was in, sold the car I’ve had for years, and quit social work completely. Surprisingly, I even ended up back in the church I was in volunteering at the same young adults table I started working with young adults at. A complete full circle.

This time I’m seeing a new season though. A partner I never thought I’d find. Losing partner after partner that I thought would be forever. It was up to me again, just like 5 years ago, to decide if Tirzah stays or goes. I decided that it was time for a new day. Time for me to step up and see how far we’ll go (in the words of Moana). It’s not that I haven’t stepped up before, but I know I can take Tirzah places it has never been before with the people who have the passion for it.

As you know December is our Sabbatical. Enjoy the pre - scheduled articles we have published for once a week in December around Advent. Feel free to stop by our shop and buy a full devotional for Advent - written by Tirzah’s own writer - Shoba.

I cannot release all our changes, but know we are still the same. Our name remains the same, mission laser - focused, and same focus on articles by women for women. We will have some new faces, new leaders, new writers, but we’ll be the same. Enjoy the changing seasons and I cannot wait to launch in a new way come January!

“Come and see what the Lord has done,

the amazing things he has done on the earth.

He stops wars everywhere on the earth.

He breaks all bows and spears

and burns up the chariots with fire.”
