Book Recommendation: The God Who Stays

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9

I had the privilege of being asked to review Matthew West’s new book The God Who Stays. This Scripture from the book of Joshua summarizes the whole theme of this book. Are you willing to stay the course in your life? Do you have the courage to stay put? Will you follow where God is leading?

Matthew’s book is full of stories of people who stayed the course in their lives. Sometimes it was a location. Other times it was a job. There was the man fighting with cancer. The people who stayed their course and helped Matthew along his path in life. Every story was so full of courage.

This book reminds me of another author - Bob Goff. If you’ve been around Tirzah for any length of time, you know we LOVE Bob Goff. His desire to see people find their callings is inspiring. His willingness to travel around the world to help people reach their dreams makes for the best stories.

Matthew’s book is the continuation of this. It is not the story of finding people and helping them achieve their dreams. Rather it is the story of finding those who are fighting to stay the course and sharing their story. Being inspired by the every day and carrying that into the future.

I hope you do choose to read this book as it inspired me to stay the course in my own life. Challenged me to ignore the distractions and focus on where God has called me. You too have been asked to stay in your own life. Read this book and reflect on how God is calling you to move forward.

Have courage to stay the course and live the life He has called you. Stay where God has asked you to. Leave the places he has removed from your life. Share your story with us here at Tirzah. This is what Tirzah is all about. Sharing the stories of women who found God and his purpose for their life. Inspiring other women to find Jesus and stay the course in their lives.
